Titanic (1997)

For February, we are bringing you the greatest romantic epic of all time – TITANIC. The movie that for a whole generation of moviegoers became the most-watched, highest-grossing movie of all time.
TITANIC is an expertly crafted ticking clock of a movie. We know the disaster is coming from the very beginning. But before it does, James Cameron gets us emotionally involved in the forbidden love story of stowaway Jack Dawson (played by Leonardo DiCaprio in the performance that made him a super-star and has kept him there for almost 25 years) and unhappily engaged Rose Bukater (played by one of our generation’s most daring and talented actresses, Kate Winslet). As the Titanic hurtles across the ocean on the way to its date with destiny, we watch Cameron equally at home with the intimate story of two young people discovering an intense love that few are lucky enough to have.
Filmed almost entirely in Mexico with a mix of stage sets, special effects tank work, computer effects, and model work that, along with LORD OF THE RINGS, still is often the gold standard of combining all special effects technology, Titanic brings the intimate and the epic crashing into each other in startling style. With one foot in the classic tradition of Hollywood storytelling and one foot in the future of special effects film-making, TITANIC delivers on all levels.
Bring your friends, your partner, your neighbor, your crush, and enjoy an evening of film, food, and friends!
